Applications Accepted Year Round

International Reporting Project

The International Reporting Project (IRP) is now accepting applications for reporting fellowships on women’s rights and LGBTI rights.

Rory Peck Trust Training Fund

The Rory Peck Training Fund makes hostile environment training affordable for freelancers. Bursaries are for freelancers who work internationally. To qualify you will need to have worked as a freelancer in newsgathering and/or current affairs for a minimum of 18 months.

Rory Peck Trust Assistance Grants

RPT offers individual grants to freelance newsgatherers and/or their families who find themselves in a critical situation. This includes freelancers who have been threatened, imprisoned or injured, forced into hiding or exile, or killed.

Light Work Artist-in-Residence Program

Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in its residency program, including one artist co-sponsored by Autograph ABP and one artist in conjunction with the Urban Video Project (UVP). Artists selected for the residency program are invited to live in Syracuse for one month. They receive a $5,000 stipend, an apartment to stay in, a private digital studio, a private darkroom, and 24-hour access to our facility.

Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting

The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting funds international travel costs associated with reporting projects on topics and regions of global importance, with an emphasis on issues that have gone unreported or under-reported in the mainstream American media. The amount of individual travel grants will depend on the specific project and detailed budget planning. Most awards fall in the range of $2,000 to $10,000 but depending on project specifics may be as much as $20,000.

Open Society Foundations

The Open Society Foundations award grants, scholarships, and fellowships throughout the year. Start with the form on the linked page to explore their published grant opportunities and view eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
